Produced by the British Royal Mint, the 1oz UK Silver Britannia coin was introduced in 1997 in Proof version only, and bullion form in 1998. Since it's introduction, there has been 5 designs used on the reverse of these large coins. The coin is the purest Silver bullion coin produced for the United Kingdom and has legal tender status.
