UK Gold BRITANNIA
Produced by the British Royal Mint, the UK Gold Britannia coin was introduced in 1987. Since then it has been produce in four sizes - 1/10th oz, 1/4 oz, 1/2oz and 1oz. Since it's introduction, there has been 6 designs used on the reverse of these coins. The coin is produced in 22ct Gold for the United Kingdom and has legal tender status.
Bullion Version
The Gold Britannia coin was originally alloyed with Copper, but from 1990 the decision was made to alloy with Silver. This is why the earlier Gold Britannia's have the deep Gold colour, as opposed to the lighter yellow gold colour of the Britannia since 1990.

1990 - present: 22ct (0.917 gold, alloyed with Silver)
